Privacy

Reading the public pages stores nothing about you. If you sign in or use the guest password, the site keeps what it needs, and guest visits are recorded so we can see what people look at. Nothing is sold, and there are no ads or outside analytics.

Public pages

• No cookie, and no record kept by this site.

Signing in (an account or the guest password)

• A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in. It ends when you sign out, or after 12 hours without use.
• If you tick “Stay signed in”, a second cookie keeps your account signed in on that browser for 30 days from its last use. It ends when you sign out, change your password, or the account is closed; the site keeps a scrambled form of it (never the cookie itself) and when it was last used.
• Accounts: your email, your name, a scrambled form of your password (never the password itself), and when you were invited and last signed in.
• Sign-in attempts: the address each one came from - wrong tries for about two days (to slow down guessing), sign-ins to an account for about 90 days (so a familiar place is not slowed down).

Guest visits (the guest password)

• Each visit is recorded: your full IP address, your browser, the city, region and country looked up from that address on our own server, when you came, how long you spent on each page and section, and which demos you played.
• A cookie kept for one year lets the site recognise the same browser next time, so your visits are grouped together.
• If you leave “Remember it” ticked, another cookie lets that browser in without the guest password for 30 days from its last use. It ends when you sign out, or when the guest password changes.
• These records stay until the site owner deletes them. Account holders’ visits are not recorded this way.

Demos

• Each demo plays from the app’s own website, through a link that works for 15 minutes and only from your address. That website sees your IP address, as any website you visit does.

The contact form

• What you write is sent to us by email. The site does not keep a copy.

Behind the scenes

• Our web host keeps standard server logs (address, page, time).
• The site’s database is backed up every night: copies are kept for 14 days on the server and for about 30 days offline.
